Contemporary lines and natural materials for an ultra-modern design
Located in the heart of Milan, between the Teatro alla Scala and the Casa del Manzoni and just 400 m. from the Duomo, The Corner Duomo Hotel is housed in a modern and curious building, designed by the famous Milanese architect Luigi Caccia Dominioni, which insists on the Church of San Fedele by Pellegrino Tibaldi (1569). The structure consists of a portion of the corner façade suspended on a single pillar while the longer side looks through a large window to the apse of the church itself.
The 57 rooms of The Corner Duomo Hotel, distributed over the 6 floors of the building, are characterized by large sizes and an ultramodern and sophisticated design: the architectural space is defined by simple and contemporary lines in contrast with the use of natural materials such as ash wood, Sahara marbles, and glass.
The entrance scenario has been designed to give strength to the reading of volumes and transparencies and to immediately involve and stimulate the guest with the WOW effect. The warmth of the interior atmosphere is mainly delegated to custom-designed and made-to-measure furnishings, made of iron-stained ash blockboard and glass. All openings, including the entrance door to the rooms, are full-height and enhanced by an innovative lighting project.
